Introvert/Extrovert differences at home

Good morning Gang,

Happy Hoppy Easter!

I hope you are enjoying this holiday. Of course spending time together on holidays can highlight the differences between Introverts and Extroverts. Here is a recent conversation between a close extrovert friend and myself.

Me: so what are you up to over Easter?
Friend: I have two parties to attend, drinks on Saturday afternoon, having the family over for lunch on Sunday and then taking friends out on the boat on Monday, can’t wait!!!!
Me: oh….

Friend: what about you?
Me: no plans, I have a stack of books to read, having a Get Smart marathon and spending a lot of time in my pyjamas. I might even order pizza, can’t wait.
Friend: oh…

We are both different and really enjoy our time when we do catch up. It’s all about understanding our differences. He doesn’t expect me to want to come on the boat (be trapped on the boat with people I don’t know) and I know he wouldn’t enjoy watching hours of Max without talking.

It is so important that you and your partner/family understand each other and that both sides are respected. Most of my clients start working with me to be more successful at work but these lessons invariably transfer to home life as well.

Know your differences.
